Chef Wajira Gamage

Chef Wajira is the Executive Chef of Santani and he joined the team at Santani to create the world’s first fine dining healthy food offering. He joined Santani after 10 years as the Corporate Chef at Resplendent Ceylon, overseeing the food at Ceylon Tea Trails and Cape Weligama, the only two Relais & Châteaux properties in Sri Lanka.

Widely considered as the best fine dining Chef in Sri Lanka, Wajira started his career in France and is a classical French trained chef. After a 16 year career in France, he returned to his motherland and had atrail blazing career and is solely responsible for the high rating Tea Trails has achieved in the past. Chef Wajira recently did a secondment at Restaurant Andre, the number one restaurant in Singapore and one of the worlds top 50 restaurants.

Dr. Sooral Ravi

Dr. Ravi is the head of wellness and resident Ayurveda consultant at Santani.

Dr. Ravi is an Ayurveda doctor and a health and well being expert. His expertise encompass wellness, spa and beauty treatments honed over a 10 year career in some of the world’s best spa resort’s such as the Four Seasons in the madivesLeela Palaces and Aveda Spa in India. He has professional experiences in many countries including Maldives, India, China, and Greece. Apart from qualifications in Ayurveda, Dr Ravi is trained in various wellness and fitness practices such as yoga, international massage therapies, nutrition and beauty treatments such as wraps, facials etc.

Shane VonHagt

Shane is the General Manager of Santani and will have full responsibility of the operations of Santani. A career hotelier with top hotel brands, he started his career with World’s number one hotel brand, Oberoi as a Bellmen. After 10 years with the Oberoi group, he spent 7 years with the Jumeirah Beach Club in Dubai. He returned to Sri Lanka in 2003 and joined Cinnamon Grand Hotel where he was leading the rooms divisoin till he joined the team at Santani.

Shane has wide experience in all aspects of hotel operations and managed over 350 staff as the head of the rooms division at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel. At Santani, he will have direct responsibility over the front office and house keeping functions apart from the general management of the Santani Resort.

Anil Parakulangara

Anil leads the Ayurveda therapies at Santani. Anil hails from a traditional Ayurveda practitioner family in Kerala, India. He learnt Ayurveda from a young age as part of a family practice. He received his formal Ayurveda and Wellness training from the Ananda in the Himalayas, one of the worlds top 5 wellness resorts.

Anil has over 12 years experience in Ayurveda and Wellness with over 7 years at Ananda in the Himalayas where he was the Head Therapist. Anil is well versed in all Ayurveda treatments and multiple international treatments.
